Willamette Valley

Wine Trail

Let’s face it. Most of us have very few “first” moments these days. That first kiss, first sip of wine and first friends’ trip are distant memories, right? Well here’s your chance for a big historic first moment… Yep, 1618 is taking the show on the road!

Join Stacey and Evans in Portland and Willamette (rhymes with dammit) Valley for the first 1618 Adventure in Oregon for a fabulous week of wine, food and more wine. After a couple of fun days in Portland, you’ll stalk, um, meet and schmooze with our favorite makers who’ve made the region fantastic and famous.

Interested? Then save the date August 2-8, 2020, and sign up for more details below. Since this is the first of hopefully many, we also want to hear YOUR ideas for future beer, whiskey, and juicy jaunts!

Don’t miss out on bragging rights that yep, you were our first!

Your Hosts

Stacey Land – Certified Sommelier, Sake and Wine Specialist

Wine and hospitality run in her blood.

Stacey Land came back to Greensboro from New York where her father attended the CIA. This return to the south saw Stacey marry, buy a restaurant and further develop her passion for food and wine. She has been seeking knowledge and training not only for herself but for the staff of 1618 Concepts, the restaurant family she is a big part of.

Stacey is the General Manager of 1618 Midtown, the educational leader through classes for the staff and guests, and she uses her Certifications to help guide their fledgling wine club to success! Stacey is currently studying for the Green Pin and looking forward to traveling to every wine region-for education!

Evans Nowlin – Certified Sommelier

Fostering great experiences for guests has always been a driving force for Evans. The how’s and why’s of flavor are the creative cool-aide for her and the “magic” of pairing beverage and cuisine is the fire behind it all. Growing up in a hospitality family and working almost every aspect of a restaurant, from kitchen prep to now beverage director, makes her a jack of all trades.

In 2017 she completed her Certified Specialist of Spirits through the Society of Wine Educators and in 2018 she started her journey through the Court of Master Sommeliers and in April of 2019 passed her Certified Sommelier examination.

Evans has been with 1618 Concepts, one of the top restaurants in the state located in Greensboro North Carolina, for nearly 12 years. During that time she has helped the 1618 Concepts beverage and retail programs flourish and is now the co-creator of their wine club.

Her greatest passion is raising a thriving kindergartner, all the while creating classic influenced cocktails and furthering wine and spirits education not only with herself but her staff. Guests often see Evans as the go-to “Beverage Coach” for any given evening.
